My Story

So how did I get to the point of setting up Future Crafts? It all started around Easter of 2024 when I became unwell.  After a couple of weeks I thought I had pneumonia as I was having trouble breathing, however, after being admitted to a local hospital, I was told I had an acute form of leukemia called "Acute Myeloid Leukaemia" or AML for short. This is a rapid form of leukemia that if not treated quickly....... well, I will leave the last details as I am reliving this as I am writing!

I was rushed to the Royal Marsden Hospital where I spent a week in intensive care and then another three weeks in a side ward while I recovered.  If it had not been for all the fantastic doctors and nurses at the hospitals I would not be talking to you now.  I can't put into words how grateful I am to everyone they saved my life!

I am, at the time of writing this, still undergoing treatment to combat the AML but, if it did anything, it made me realise that life is so precious and we take it for granted!  I was working six days a week working, leaving no time at all to do the things I loved doing, and I nearly lost the opportunity to do any of my hobbies ever again! Things can change in one's life so quickly that it made me take a good look at my life and decide I need to do something about it.

So as my family are all very talented and artistic, I decided to start a website related to crafting, making and modeling, so if anyone likes what we do and wants something handmade with love we would sell them. A portion of the profits will be used to buy things to help Maggie's Centre in Sutton who helped me loads.

Just a quick footnote to say a big thank you to all my friends and family who have been amazing in helping me through all the hard times, I love you all (you know who you are).
